Python Studio ("we", "us", or "our") is an interactive educational platform developed by Xcute the Code. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand exactly how your information is handled.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the information necessary to provide you with the learning experience:

• Authentication Information: When you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your basic profile information (name, email address, and an authentication token) to create and secure your account.
• Learning Progress & Gamification: We store your learning activity, module completion status, experience points (XP), and current streaks in our database to track your progress across sessions.
• Project Data: The code you write and save in your personal workspace or projects is stored securely on our servers to allow you to resume your work from any device.

2. Python Code Execution & Safety

Your Python code executes entirely in your own web browser. We use Pyodide (a WebAssembly implementation of Python) to run your code locally. This means your normal code executions and their standard outputs are not transmitted to our servers for processing.

3. AI Mentor Integration

Python Studio features an AI Mentor that can provide hints and assistance. When you explicitly ask the AI for help, the specific prompt and your current code snippet may be sent to our third-party AI providers (such as Google GenAI or Groq) to generate a response. These providers are restricted from using this data to train their models under their respective API terms.

4. Local Storage and Cookies

We use essential cookies for maintaining your authentication session. We also use your browser's local storage and IndexedDB to cache the Pyodide environment and improve loading speeds. We do not use non-essential tracking cookies or advertising networks.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your progress and project data as long as your account is active. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time. See our Data Deletion page for instructions.

6. Third-Party Services

Python Studio integrates with the following services to function:

• Google OAuth: For secure authentication.
• Google GenAI / Groq: For providing the AI Mentor feature.
• Supabase / Turso (libsql): For secure database storage.

7. DPDP Act & Privacy Considerations

We practice data minimization, meaning we only process the personal data strictly required to deliver the educational service. If you are residing in a region with specific data protection laws (such as the DPDP Act in India), you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data by contacting us.
